Evie Kaisi Joins Star-Studded Cast of Channel 4 Thriller Wrong Move

2023 Luke Westlake Scholarship shortlister Evie Kaisi has been cast in Channel 4’s upcoming comic thriller Wrong Move, alongside David Thewlis, Rory Kinnear and Eve Myles.

Rising actor Evie Kaisi, a 2023 Luke Westlake Scholarship shortlister, has joined the ensemble cast of Wrong Move, the new Channel 4 comic thriller from writer and creator Ben Edwards (Coma). Produced by Roughcut Television, filming is currently underway in Yorkshire.

The series boasts an impressive cast led by Eve Myles (Keeping Faith), Rory Kinnear (The Diplomat), Eleanor Tomlinson (One Day), and David Thewlis (Fargo, Harry Potter). Also joining the production are David Bradley (Game of Thrones), Ray Fearon (Champion), Paul Bazely (Such Brave Girls), and Laura Elsworthy (Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery).

A darkly comic property nightmare

Wrong Move explores the pressures, anxieties and absurdities of the UK property market through the lives of three couples trapped in a collapsing house-buying chain. Just as contracts are about to be completed, the seller at the top unexpectedly pulls out — triggering chaos for everyone below.

At the centre of the drama is Trevor, played by David Thewlis, a volatile and manipulative man whose decision to abandon the sale sends shockwaves through the lives of the buyers involved. Trevor’s increasingly disturbing behaviour exposes tensions, secrets and fractures within each relationship.

Rory Kinnear stars as Michael, a man struggling to keep his composure as the property chain disintegrates, while Eve Myles plays his wife, who believes securing their dream home could save their marriage. Eleanor Tomlinson portrays Stella, who is preparing for motherhood with her partner Juliette, played by Gwyneth Keyworth, amidst the growing turmoil.

Evie Kaisi continues to rise

For Evie Kaisi, appearing in Wrong Move marks another exciting step in a rapidly developing screen career. As a Luke Westlake Scholarship shortlister, Kaisi is part of a new generation of emerging British acting talent gaining recognition across television and film.

The project also further cements Channel 4’s reputation for producing bold, character-driven drama that blends sharp humour with psychological tension.

Acclaimed creative team behind the series

The series is executive produced by Ash Atalla and Alex Smith for Roughcut Television, with Rebecca Davies producing and Rene Pannevis directing. International distribution is being handled by Fremantle.

Known for combining emotional realism with dark comedy, creator Ben Edwards brings a fresh perspective to themes of ambition, insecurity and modern British life — using the chaos of the housing market as the backdrop for a gripping ensemble thriller.
