Building Confidence: Screen Acting & Re-Connecting Workshops with Gemma Hancock

Are you an actor looking to reignite your creativity and connect with fellow performers? Join our two-session workshop series designed to help you build confidence, sharpen your screen acting skills, and re-connect with the creative process.

A series of two practical in-person workshops (3 hours) for groups of 12-14 actors.

We’re running two, 2-week courses.

  • Course 1: Tue 24 and Tue 31 March 2026 at Bang Studios (SOLD OUT)

  • Course 2: Tue 19 and Tue 26 May 2026 at Old Diorama (NOW ON SALE)

Session One (6:30-9:30pm):

  • Scene Work: Read through a pre-assigned scene with a partner. Collaborate to identify the scene’s crucial moments. Improvise around those key points before coming back to the text

  • Group Viewing: Watch each pair’s scene and learn from each other

  • Q&A: Tips on casting, auditioning, self-taping, learning lines, and character work

Session Two (6:30-9:30pm):

  • Self-Tape Review: Bring a recent self-tape - watch, discuss and work on the scene

  • Spotlight on you: Talk about yourself and build self-presentation confidence

  • Takeaway Exercises: Practical exercises, notes, and recommendations to keep improving

  • Learn audition strategies for in person or self-tape auditions

This May course takes place at: Old Diorama Arts Centre, Regent's Place, 201 Drummond Street, Triton Square, London NW1 3FE. The studio is a 5 minute walk away from Great Portland Street, Warren Street, London Euston or Euston Square.
